On Sunday, March 16th, the Divine Warrior Witches gathered with community at Crescent Moon Gifts in Tacoma, WA for our 2025 Ostara celebration and ritual.
Our ritual centered around Earth, Air, Fire and Water workings that emphasized the importance of self-care, rejuvenation, rebirth, and personal growth for oneself and within a community structure.
Continuing the 2025 theme of crystals, aquamarine was presented and gifted at this event.
SO BELOW | Ostara

Presented by High Priestess Serenity
The Spring Equinox, which occurred this year on March 20th at 2:01AM PST here in the Pacific Northwest, is a magickal day on which we find ourselves in a time of balance. Day and night are equal, the light illuminates as long as the darkness devours.
Ostara, with the birth of spring, awakens us from our winter's slumber. The soil softens, buds bloom, birds sing, and creatures of Earth reveal themselves after months of hibernation and nocturnal living.
Grateful for this beautiful season, together we spoke the Haudenosaunee Thanksgiving Address. High Priestess Serenity then lead a beautiful group discussion about this time of year, during which a theme of rest and renewal emerged.

CRYSTAL | Aquamarine
Presented by Rowan and Jasper
Aquamarine, a variety of the mineral beryl, is a striking blue-green gemstone. The characteristic blue hue is primarily due to trace amounts of iron. Its structure is hexagonal, which often results in the formation of elongated prismatic crystals with smooth surfaces that contribute to the gem’s remarkable clarity. Relatively durable, a 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs scale, aquamarine is suitable for a variety of jewelry pieces.
In ancient times, Aquamarine was believed to counteract the forces of darkness and procure favors from spirits of light. It was even used by sailors to serve as protection against drowning.
Aquamarine today is known for communication, inspiration, clarity, and calming. It filters information that reaches the brain and sharpens intellect to assist in clearing confusion.

THE RITUAL
By High Priestess Serenity
Ritual began with a sleepy story time as everyone got cozy while Serenity read her personal telling of Ostara and The Hare. Once concluded, a rotation between element inspired self-care stations began.
At the AIR station, warriors were each gifted a piece of aquamarine and given the option to be fanned with sacred feathers to sweep away negative energies from body and mind.
For FIRE, each warrior was given an oracle card reading by High Priestess Cawnawyn, gifted candles to focus on and meditate with.
Elements EARTH and WATER were combined to present warriors with an opportunity to pamper themselves and be pampered at a mini spa which included foot soaks, face masks, scalp massages, and comforting warm towels.
CAKES
For Cakes & Ale, High Priestess Cawnawyn whipped up some delicious cakes with lemon cream frosting, which we washed down with our traditional sparkling apple cider.

Cake Ingredients:
½ cup butter unsalted, softened
½ cup white granulated sugar
3 tablespoons honey
2 eggs
1⅓ cup all-purpose flour
¾ teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
Frosting Ingredients:
4 ounces block-style cream cheese, room temperature
½ cup unsalted butter, room temperature
4 cups confectioner's sugar
1 tablespoon lemon zest
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon salt

Cake Recipe
Preheat Oven to 300°
In a mixing bowl or stand mixer, beat butter, sugar and honey. Add eggs.
In a separate bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt.
Gradually fold into in to wet mixture.
Fill tins 3/4 full and bake 17 minutes.
Cool 15 minutes. Invert onto plates.
Frosting Recipe

In a large bowl, add room temperature cream cheese and butter and beat with a hand mixer (or stand mixer) until creamy, about 1 minute.
Add confectioner's sugar, half at a time, and slowly mix until ingredients are fully combined. Then, whip at high speed for 2-3 minutes, or until light and fluffy.
Add lemon zest, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and salt, then whip until fluffy, another 1 to 2 minutes.
Pipe onto cooled cupcakes or spread onto cooled cake and serve.
Enjoy!
Blessed Spring Equinox!
